Overview

Hortinet – Farmer Connect App, developed by APEDA, is an integrated traceability system enabling farm registration, testing, and certification of grapes, pomegranates, and vegetables for EU export compliance.

  • It is joint initiative of MSTC Ltd. (a Mini Ratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel) and Central Railside Warehousing Company. 
  • It is an auction platform to help farmers get reasonable price for the produce and not fall prey to middlemen.
  • The farmers are paid directly into their bank accounts.
