Overview

The scheme ensures uniform pensions for Armed Forces personnel of the same rank and service length, irrespective of retirement date. It covers retirees up to June 30, 2019, including war widows and disabled pensioners.

  • Aim: To provide uniform pension be paid to the Armed Forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, regardless of their date of retirement.
  • Coverage: Armed Forces Personnel retired up to June 30, 2019 family pensioners, including war widows and disabled pensioners.
  • Exclusion: Personnel who voluntarily retire 
  •  In future, the pension would be re-fixed every 5 year
  • NOTE: Before OROP, ex-servicemen used to get pensions as per the Pay Commission's recommendations of the time when they had retired.
