Overview
The scheme aims to conserve wildlife habitats, protect key species, and maintain ecological balance. It provides financial assistance to States/UTs for protection, conservation, and recovery of critically endangered species.
- Type: Centrally Sponsored Scheme
- Purpose: To conserve and develop wildlife habitats, protect keystone species and promote ecological balance through technological interventions and community engagement.
- Financial assistance: Assistance is provided to State/UT Governments for protection and conservation of wildlife and its habitats in Protected Areas (PAs) as well as outside PAs and also for the recovery programmes of the critically endangered species.
