The International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) have launched a new Centre of Excellence. This initiative is focused on transforming agriculture in developing countries through South-South cooperation.

Key Objectives and Functions

  • Location: The Centre is based in Hyderabad.
  • Purpose: It will act as a catalyst for converting agricultural solutions into scalable impacts, facilitating the sharing of agricultural knowledge and experiences.
  • Role: The Centre aims to democratize agricultural knowledge and translate this experience into actionable policy frameworks.

Collaborative Efforts

  •  RIS Director General, Sachin Chaturvedi, emphasized India's role in sharing its development experience with other developing countries.
