The government has introduced 'PM GatiShakti Public' to facilitate private entities, consultants, researchers, and citizens in utilizing advanced analytics from the GatiShakti National Masterplan (NMP) for improved investment decisions and infrastructure planning.
Platform Features
- The platform provides regulated access to non-sensitive datasets from PM GatiShakti NMP.
- Developed by the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) and powered by the National Geospatial Data Registry (NGDR).
- Features include access to 230 approved datasets, site suitability analysis, connectivity mapping, and alignment planning.
- Allows generation of analytical reports based on pre-defined templates and user-defined criteria.
User Benefits
- Users can visualize multi-layered geospatial data for better project design and inter-agency coordination.
- Promotes private sector participation with self-registration, strong authentication, and data security.
- Platform will evolve with new data layers and analytical modules based on feedback and needs.
Recent Initiatives
- Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal launched initiatives to enhance infrastructure planning and cross-sectoral collaboration.
- Includes the Knowledge Management System (KMS), Decentralized Data Uploading and Management System (DUMS), PMGS NMP Dashboard, and PM GatiShakti Compendium Volume-3.
PM GatiShakti – Offshore
A digital platform for integrated planning and management of offshore development, aiming to reinforce India's Blue Economy and support green energy transition.
Background and Future Plans
- The initiative follows extensive inter-ministerial consultations led by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
- Access to the national masterplan is intended to aid private sector execution of infrastructure projects.
- Future plans include sharing certain data and maps to optimize last-mile delivery services and develop infrastructure-based applications.
