India's Commitment to the Palestine Issue

India has reiterated its commitment to a negotiated two-state solution as the "only viable path" for achieving lasting peace and prosperity in the Middle East.

Statements at the NAM Ministerial Committee

  • Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasized India's support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, underscoring their right to self-determination, national independence, and sovereignty.
  • The ultimate objective is a sovereign, independent, and viable State of Palestine living peacefully alongside Israel within secure and recognized borders.

India's Position on the Gaza Conflict

  • India has condemned terrorism and called for an end to the destruction and suffering of civilians.
  • Emphasized the need for Gaza to have unhindered access to food, fuel, and necessities, the release of hostages, and the immediate implementation of a ceasefire.

Historical and Ongoing Support

  • The NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine was established in 1983 during India’s Presidency at the NAM Summit in New Delhi.
  • India extends development cooperation and humanitarian assistance, providing 135 metric tonnes of medicines and supplies since October 2023.
