ISRO is set to launch its largest rocket, LVM-3, to send a communication satellite, CMS-03, into space. This launch marks the first instance of ISRO deploying a satellite weighing over 4,000 kg from Indian soil into the geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO).

LVM-3 Rocket Overview

  • Uses solid, liquid, and cryogenic-fuel based engines.
  • Can carry up to 8,000 kg to low earth orbit (LEO) and up to 4,000 kg to geosynchronous orbit.
