Political Transition in Bangladesh

This marks BNP's return to power after being previously in government from 2001 to 2006.
- During the previous BNP administration, Rahman’s mother, Khaleda Zia, was the Prime Minister.
- Khaleda Zia passed away in December 2025 shortly after Rahman returned from a 17-year self-exile in the UK.
