Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) Approvals
The Defence Acquisition Council, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved several defense proposals with a total estimated value of about Rs 2.38 lakh crore.

- High Capacity Radio Relay
- Dhanush Gun System
- Runway Independent Aerial Surveillance System for the Indian Army
Indian Air Force Procurement
- Medium Transport Aircraft
- S-400 Long Range Surface-to-Air Missile System
- Remotely Piloted Strike Aircraft
- Overhaul of Su-30 Aero Engine Aggregates
The Medium Transport Aircraft will replace the AN32 and IL76 transport fleet to meet strategic, tactical, and operational airlift requirements.
Heavy Duty Air Cushion Vehicles
The DAC approved these vehicles for multipurpose maritime coastal operational roles, including:
- High-speed coastal patrolling
- Reconnaissance
- Search and rescue operations
- Assistance to ships
- Carrying personnel and stores, including logistics
Financial Year 2026 Approvals
- AoN for 55 proposals amounting to Rs 6.73 lakh crore
- Capital procurement contracts for 503 proposals totaling Rs 2.28 lakh crore in the current fiscal year
- These figures represent the highest quantum of AoN and capital contracts signed in any fiscal year, according to the Ministry's release.
