About Kumaraswami Kamaraj (1903 - 1975)
- Born: Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu into a Nadar caste (depressed caste).
- He became the Chief Minister of the then Madras Province in 1954.

- Became member of Indian National Congress.
- Inspired to join the freedom struggle by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

- In 1942, he was jailed for three years for his involvement in Quit India Movement.
