- It is the largest country by land area in the Caribbean

- Maritime boundaries:US, Haiti, Honduras, The Bahamas, Jamaica and Mexico(Yucatan Peninsula)

- Important Lakes and Reservoirs: Laguna de Leche and man-made Zaza Reservoir
- Surrounding Water bodies: Atlantic Ocean, Cayman Trench, Gulf of Mexico, Straits of Florida and the Caribbean Sea.
