Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a police conference in Raipur, emphasised the need for transforming public perception of the police, especially among the youth, by enhancing professionalism, sensitivity, and responsiveness.

• Urban and Tourist Policing: Strengthen urban policing and reinvigorate tourist police efforts.
• Integration with Technology:
  1. Effective use of databases integrated with the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID).
  2. Link these systems through artificial intelligence to generate actionable intelligence.
• Forensic Studies: Encourage universities to undertake case studies on forensic use in investigations to strengthen the criminal justice system.

Security and Safety Measures

• Coastal Security: Adopt innovative models to strengthen it.

The conference was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, and the Union Home Secretary. It also included DGPs and IGPs, along with heads of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisations.
