Extradition of Fugitive Criminals
The Indian government, under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has successfully repatriated 274 fugitive criminals from 36 countries over the past seven years.

International Cooperation and Initiatives
- Before 2014, India had extradition treaties with only 37 countries.
- Operation Trishul: Launched to geo-locate absconding criminals using satellite inputs and digital footprint analysis.

- Extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, from the United States.

- Notices have increased significantly over the years, with 182 issued in 2026 alone.
