Political Features
- It is an island nation consisting of a group of Atolls (consisting of coral islands) in the Indian Ocean.
- It is the smallest Asian country, strategically located astride and along major sea lanes in the Indian Ocean.
- Located to the south-southwest of India, it is separated from India (Lakshadweep) by the Eight Degree Channel.
