National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) launched in April 2016 is a pan-India electronic trading platform to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities by digitally integrating existing mandis.
- It overcame limitations of Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) mandis by causing inter-state market integration and wider reach.
Key Features of e-NAM
- One Nation, One Market: Comprises a multi-layered architecture encompassing a web portal, mobile application, AI-enabled quality assessment systems, etc.
- Implementation: Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) is the lead agency for implementation under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.
- Integration with Electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (e-NWR) system: Farmers, traders, and Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPOs) can store their produce in WDRA-accredited warehouses, obtain e-NWRs, and sell directly on e-NAM platform.
- e-NWR under Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007 is a secure electronic instrument that certifies ownership of commodities stored in warehouses accredited by Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA).
- Others: Inter-state trade facility; live price dashboard; 12-language interface; single window service, Platform of Platforms (PoP), etc.

Key Achievements of e-NAM
- Expanded Network: Number of connected mandis rose from 1,389 (2024) to 1,656 (March 2026).
- Growth in Agricultural Trade: Trading of 13.25 crore metric tonnes of commodities, generating a total trade value of ₹4.84 lakh crore (2016 to March 2026).
- Wider Outreach: Registered over 1.80 crore farmers, 2.73 lakh traders, and 4,724 Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPOs).
