Overview of Prime Minister Modi's Two-Nation Tour
The prime minister of India is scheduled for a two-nation tour to the United Kingdom and the Maldives from July 23 to July 26, 2025, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Visit to the United Kingdom
- Meeting with Leaders: The Indian Prime Minister will meet with Britain's Prime Minister to discuss the full range of India-U.K. bilateral relations and regional and global issues.
- Unveiling of Trade Pact: The visit will include the unveiling of the bilateral trade pact announced on May 6, described as “ambitious and mutually beneficial.”
- Discussion of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP): Focus areas include trade and economy, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate, health, education, and people-to-people ties.
Visit to the Maldives
- State Visit: At the invitation of the President of the Maldives, the Indian Prime Minister will attend the Maldives' 60th independence anniversary as the "Guest of Honor" on July 26.
- Joint Vision Review: The leaders will review progress on the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’ adopted in October 2024.
