European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen highlighted the partnership as a critical measure for ensuring security for their populations in an increasingly insecure global landscape.

Security of Information Agreement
The two parties have initiated negotiations on a Security of Information Agreement to facilitate the exchange of classified information, aiming to bolster cooperation in security and defence.
Condemnation of Terrorism
Both sides unequivocally condemned terrorism and violent extremism, including cross-border terrorism. Specific condemnation was directed at the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and near Red Fort in the previous year.
Call for International Cooperation
The joint statement urged decisive and concerted international efforts to combat terrorism in a comprehensive and sustained manner, adhering to international law.
