About Cicadas (Hemiptera: Cicadoidea)

• These are a conspicuous group of insects, mostly occurring in warm and temperate biomes.
• All cicada species have a life cycle that consists of three stages(egg, nymph, and adult).
•  Adult female cicadas usually lay their eggs in woody plant tissues.
• They have an exceptionally loud song, produced in most species by the rapid buckling and unbuckling of drum-like tymbals.
