    • Number of operational satellites owned by Government was 22 in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and 31 in Geo-synchronous Earth Orbit (GEO).

  • Key Milestones: SpaDeX mission; Voyage of Indian astronaut, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla commanding private Axiom 4 crewed mission to International Space Station.

ISRO’s Efforts to Preserve Space Sustainability

  • Commitment to Debris Free Space Mission (DFSM): Declared in 2024 for debris free space missions by all space actors by 2030.
  • Indigenous Efforts: Network for Space Objects Tracking and Analysis (NETRA), Multi-Object Tracking Radar (MOTR) at Sriharikota;  Baker Nunn Schmidt Telescope (BNST), currently being refurbished at Nainital. 
  • Particpation in Global Fora: Including Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC), IAA Space Debris Committee, etc.
