Scheme For Promoting Pharmacovigilance of AYUSH Drugs

The Pharmacovigilance Scheme for AYUSH Drugs is a Central Sector initiative to document adverse effects, ensure drug safety, and curb misleading advertisements through a three-tier monitoring network led by the All India Institute of Ayurveda.

  • Aim: Documentation of adverse effects and monitoring of safety and surveillance of misleading advertisements of of AYUSH drugs. 
  • Type: Central Sector Scheme
  • Facilitate the establishment of three-tier network of Pharmacovigilance Centre (PvCC) at national, intermediary, and peripheral level.
    • All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi, an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, has been designated as NPvCC.
