Overview

The scheme empowers individuals aged 15 and above with literacy, numeracy, life skills, and vocational training. It aims to mainstream non-literate adults into society in line with NEP 2020 from 2022 to 2027.

  • Purpose: To empower individuals aged 15 years and above with foundational literacy and numeracy, critical life skills, basic education, vocational skills, and continuing education, aligning with the vision of NEP 2020 to mainstream nonliterates into society.
  • Type: Centrally Sponsored Scheme
  • Tenure: 2022-2027
