    • Part A: Schemes with 100% provision for women
    • Part B: Schemes where allocations for women constitute at least 30%. .
    • Part C: Included in Union Budget 2024-25, where allocation is below 30%.

Key Initiatives Promoting GB In India

  • Gender Budgeting Scheme: Under ‘Samarthya’ sub-scheme of Mission Shakti scheme of Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD). 
    • It aims for 100% coverage of GB in all central and state Ministries/Departments, rural and urban local bodies.
  • Gender Budgeting Knowledge Portal (2025): By MWCD as a digital repository of all information related to GB practices. 
  • State level efforts: Odisha adopted GRB in 2004-05 with Women Component Plan; Karnataka developed a gender audit manual for monitoring and deepening of GB, etc.
