About PACTS
- Core Objective: To enhance national security, build resilient critical supply chains, and strengthen global cyber resilience with greater digital choices.
- Governance: Jointly led by Australia's Deputy Secretary (International and Security Group) and India's Deputy National Security Advisor, with annual Senior Officials' Meetings.
- Five Pillars of PACTS
- Pillar 1 (Supply Chain Resilience and Diversification): Focuses on securing supply chains for critical minerals, semi-conductors, and trusted undersea cables across the Indo-Pacific.
- Pillar 2 (Critical Technology): Cooperation in AI, space, telecommunications, biotechnology, advanced materials, and global standards.
- Pillar 3 (Cybersecurity):Aims to deter cybercrime, protect critical infrastructure, and establish a cyber tech skill incubator hub.
- Pillar 4 (Digital Resilience): Promotes and scales India's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) solutions to support developing economies in the Indo-Pacific.
- Pillar 5 (Defence Research Collaboration): Promote joint defence R&D, innovation, maritime technologies, and collaboration between DRDO and Australia's Defence Science and Technology Group.
